In an effort to reach out to those interested in doing submission style wrestling as well as introduce people to some of the rules of judo, we are holding a third Mat Mania tournament on Saturday, March 24th, 2007

What is mat mania?

It is judo without the throws. Basically, contestants start on their knees and battle for chokes, arm locks and hold downs. This year we’ve added a kids division.

When? Saturday, March 24th, 2007.

Weight divisions: There will be four weight divisions:

Under 150 lbs.

151 – 180 lbs.

181 – 210 lbs.

Over 210 lbs.

Skill levels: There will be three skill levels:

Under 1 year

1 – 3 years

Over 3 years

Weigh ins: Rules meeting:

8:00 AM – 09:30 AM 09:30 AM – 10:00 AM

Cost: $15.00 per entry, each person is guaranteed at least one match.

We welcome everyone who wants to come and participate or watch. We stress that we are doing this for fun (which is why we tried to keep the cost as low as possible). Please RSVP is you can so we have an idea of how many are showing up.
